IELTS exam eligibility has nothing to do with the requirements for admission established by international universities. Each university will have its own unique admissions policies and procedures. Prior to acceptance, applicants are also asked to satisfy additional standard prerequisites. The majority of prestigious universities will want a minimum total score of 7.0. Additionally, they demand a section or band score of at least 6.5 in each of the four sections.

IELTS examination eligibility requirements: Minimum age requirement:

Only candidates who are at least 16 years old are eligible to take the IELTS exam in India and around the world. Anyone who is 16 years old or older, regardless of gender, nationality, or background, is eligible to take this exam. Only when a school requires the IELTS scores for admission are there exceptions. The organizing bodies have not set an upper age limit.

Indian IELTS Exam Eligibility and Exam Format

The reading, listening, writing, and speaking components of the curriculum are separated into separate portions. The test lasts for two hours and forty-five minutes in total.

  • Listening- The overall section length is 30 minutes, and the candidates have to answer 40 questions in all.
  •       Reading- The overall time for this section is 30 minutes and it encompasses 40 questions.
  •       Writing- The test for this section is conducted in 60 minutes and includes two questions.  Under this section, the aspirants have to write short essays of 250 words (minimum). They are given a diagram, table, or data that they have to explain.
  •       Speaking- The total sectional length hovers between 11-14 minutes and aspirants also have to go through face-to-face interviews. This section also tracks whether aspirants have the ability to effectively communicate in the nation where they have applied to study.
